SIOUX Falls, SD (KELO AM) -
Siouxland Libraries and the South Dakota Humanities Council are pleased to
announce a veteran’s writing project in Sioux Falls.
Standing Together: The Humanities
and the Experience of War is a
grant funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities that aims to support
projects that focus on the history, experience, or meaning of war and military
service.
Veterans are being sought to
participate in this project. The purpose of the project is for veterans to
learn how to document their stories, why it is important, offer options for
sharing, and advice on publishing their completed work.
Materials and refreshments will be
provided. Registration is not required. It is not necessary to attend all
meetings, but each meeting covers a different aspect of the project. Meetings
are Thursdays, November 20, December 18, January
22, February 26, and March 19 from 6–8 p.m. at the Oak View
Branch Library, 3700 East Third Street, Sioux Falls.
